Private School Term Dates
Independent schools set their own dates. Enter your school’s terms once to get a countdown, school days left and a calendar you can share.
Everything is worked out on your device. Nothing you type is sent or stored.
How it works
Copy the term dates from your school’s calendar or letter to parents. The countdown and school-days count work exactly like the ones for public schools, but use your school’s dates. Weekends and public holidays are left out of the school-days count.
Once saved, you can add the dates to your phone’s calendar and send a link to other parents at your school, so everyone has the same dates. For public schools, see the 2027 school terms.
Questions
Do private schools have the same term dates as public schools?
Not always. According to ISASA, there are no universal term dates for independent schools in South Africa. Some follow the public school calendar, some follow an association calendar, and others set their own.
Do private schools have three or four terms?
Most independent schools use three terms, but some, especially in KwaZulu-Natal, use four terms like public schools. Your school’s calendar letter will say which.
Is my school’s calendar saved anywhere?
Only in your own browser on this device. Nothing is sent to us. The share link contains the dates themselves, so anyone you send it to sees the same calendar.
